Mount Everest is 21 km from Harrismith in the eastern Free State, centrally situated about halfway between Johannesburg and Durban.

All units have extraordinary beautiful views and are equipped with Wi-Fi and smart TV's except our eco log cabins that are fitted with gas and solar and has Wi-Fi but is not fitted with a television. From May to September it can get very cold on the farm. We have heaters and warm blankets in each chalet, but be sure to bring enough warm clothes.

All units are self-catering (there is currently no food available on the farm) and self cleaning - please wash your dishes before departure (housekeeping services on request only and charged at R150/day). A cleaning fee will be charged if the chalet is not left in a clean and tidy state.

The farm has two access gates, making it very safe and secure.

Due to risks associated with biological invasions and associated financial costs, we have a strict no outside firewood policy. Good quality firewood can be purchased for R100/25kg bag from Management. Income goes towards invasive species management.

  • Eco Cabin

My wife and I stayed over for 1 night. If we knew what we know now our stay would have been much longer. Beautiful surroundings. Close to the mountain, plenty of wild life. Eco cabin where we stayed was an awesome experience and we will definitely be back for a longer stay. For a quiet getaway this is definitely the place to be!!!!

Dit is en bly een van my eerste keuses vir n wegbreek naweek. Weereens dankie... Read this review

  • Under the watchful eye of the eagle

Change is good and Mt Everest Game Farm, under new ownership, is making it count. As a group of MTB cyclists, we were looking for a destination close to Johannesburg for long, challenging rides. What we found in Mt Everest was a unique destination that offered up so much more than a typical guest farm. We had beautiful linen, WIFI, a well-equipped kitchen, and privacy that was a pleasure... • Clean, friendly, well equipped and safe

Lovely accommodation - very clean and well equipped. Wouldn't say no to an electric blanket on the main bed. Was a treat to watch the game being fed. I was fortunate to be sitting outside at the right time. I'll be back for sure.

  • The best mountain experience ever

The cottage was excellent, just the right amount of convenience and rusticness. The reception was warm, helpful and accommodating. This is not a resort, it is a farm. The place is vast and beautiful, will keep you occupied.
