Magnificently beautiful

I just want to say thank you so much for the lovely cabin you gave us to stay in last night.
We had such a great time! It’s so magnificently beautiful out here.
We will definitely be back soon again!

Amazing Weekend Away in a Beautiful Setting

Absolutely brilliant time spent in the beautiful Arendskop chalet. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed to have a lovely time away. Communication from the hosts was also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back soon.

Great location and very good accommodation

Beautiful location that is easy accessable. Great accommodation with everything that is needed. Awesome place to overnight on your way to Durban or the Drakensberg. Will definitely recommend. Excellent communication with the booking process.

Beautiful area, very peaceful, climbing superb
Very impressed with the new ownership, usually camp up there one of the nicest camping areas I know. Last time stayed in a chalet with family. Enjoyed it a lot, climbing, mountain biking, hiking... can't wait to go back!

This place is amazing. We booked Aarendskop chalet and spent our Christmas at this hidden gem. Aarendskop chalet has recently been renovated and has the most amazing views. If you are looking for total serenity, this is the place to visit.
With a short 2 hour 30 minute drive from Johannesburg this is the perfect weekend escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
This chalet is equiped with a lovely braai which you can open on the inside or the outside, depending on your preference.
The spiral stairs in this cabin is fitted with motion detection lights which automatically switches on when you approach the stairs.
Aarendskop also has WiFi and a TV. However I have to say, with the views and serenity this chalet offers, switching on the TV or making use of the WiFi was not a priority at all.
There are plenty of wildlife on Mount Everest and you are guaranteed to see and hear them.
All chalets are self catering so be sure to take with you everything you'll need for the duration of your stay.
No need to panic should you have forgotten something, Mount Everest is situated 21km outside the town of Harrismith where one can get the things you might have forgotten.
You can be assured of total privacy with no neighbours and no staff disturbing you during your stay (unless otherwise requested).
I will definitely visit this hidden gem again in future. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Superb and secluded

We stopped over at Mount Everest on our way back from KZN to Jozi.
Our cabin, Mount Everest, was superb, up against the mountain and secluded. It was clean, everything worked (including Amazon Movies) and the kids loved the upstairs loft.
Our first night was clear and the kids and I climbed the mountain behind the cabin. We were rewarded with stunning views towards Harrismith and Platberg.
My plan was to run up the three mountains the following morning before leaving. Unfortunately the weather set in overnight and the mist was thick.
I managed to get up Glen Paul behind the Arendskop and found the tarn on the top.
The one challenge we did have was with the wet and slippery dirt road in and out of Mount Everest. That was really hairy and I wouldn’t attempt it in the rain again.
All in all, Mount Everest is well worth visiting. Thank you Kobus.

Nature at its best

We highly recommend Mount Everest Guest & Game farm for seclusion, clean, peaceful, quiet, relaxation and nature at its best. Enjoyed hiking and long walks where game roamed freely. We had immediate responses to any questions and hands on.
No complaints, not even the weather. Chilly afternoons but we were asked to bring warm clothes.
Thank you too Kobus for your assistance, the wifi password and checking if we were having a good time.
Perfect halfway stopover to Durban.

The best mountain experience ever

The cottage was excellent, just the right amount of convenience and rusticness. The reception was warm, helpful and accommodating. This is not a resort, it is a farm. The place is vast and beautiful, will keep you occupied.

Stunning views

We stayed at Arendskop this weekend. Such a beautiful place to stay at! Stunning views, nice walking trails, beautiful surroundings with wildlife. So nice to sleep so comfortably with nice linen, extra blankets and such comfortable beds. What a treat it was! Definitely returning.
