Incredible stay camping here. Great facilities for shower and cooking, we car camped but the lodges looked luxurious and some were tucked away and very private. Really nice staff and magical so have zebra and wildebeest and ostrich’s walking around camp as you braai! We loved the climbing, plenty of higher grade routes but we stuck to SA grade 14-16, luxury to walk back to camp within 15minutes and the staff have a great guidebook. Thank you for your welcome, we hope to come back soon!

From the moment we arrived, your hospitality and warmth made us feel right at home. Your place is a real gem - so clean, well cared for and surrounded by breathtaking nature. It is a place where one can really relax and forget the hustle and bustle of life.

The animals on the farm made our experience even more special! We enjoyed being among the animals so much, and of course the horses were literally and figuratively a "highlight" of our visit. 😉

You have created a place that is so much more than just a guest farm. It is filled with love, tranquility and a unique atmosphere that we will remember forever. We will definitely visit again and bring more friends to share this piece of paradise.

Mt Everest Guest Farm is on my TOP 5 places to visit. One of my most memorable vacations ever for a number of reasons. Firstly, its not that far from Jo'burg. Secondly, easy to find - signage is great so you dont waste time & money driving around looking for the place. Thirdly, the staff & service you receive is top class! Fourth, that picture you have in your mind of what you expect (as far as accommodation goes) is above & beyond your imagination! Sixth, THE VIEW from our chalet totally sublime! and lastly but not least, driving around the Reserve was transcendentally impressive. In my humble opinion, one of the most underrated Reserves in SA. A TRUE GEM!!! Thank you Mt Everest for one of the best times of my life!!!!!!!!!!

Just the most breathtaking views from Mount Everest Guest Farm. Completely immersed in nature with undisturbed panoramic views of the mountains. If you're looking for a getaway with peace and tranquility, I can't recommend Mount Everest Guest Farm enough. The best part: Pet friendly! And also a great mid-way point from Jhb to Dbn. The staff, specifically Maci and Shorty, are incredibly kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to assist in every possible way. We will definitely be back!

Awesome and Beautiful. My wife and I fell in love with this place from the moment we set foot on the premises. Ideal break away weekend. Peacefully and quiet. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. 5 stars for Maci. Friendly and helpful.

Loved the peace and tranquility on the farm. Not only is the farm situated in the perfect place but Arendskop Chalet was just perfect with a picturesque view. It was an awesome weekend with friends. To view the sunrise from our deck was stunning

WOW, what a wonder full stay, form the moment we arrived we felt refreshed and relaxed. The Mount Everest Cabin was a fantastic choice for privacy and comfort. The surrounding nature and climbing was a elixir for a city tired soul and a we left this wonderful place revived and ready for the world again.

This stay is ideally located for a weekend getaway. The cabin was well sorted with great attention to detail and amenities. Extremely clean, and quality linen and towels provided.

and the house we stayed in was well furnished and clear. And had everything and the Wi-Fi was available whole weekend that we were there. and the scenery was excellent from the balcony of the house.

We arrived late at night by the site of a herd of Widebees. We were welcomed by a beautiful cabin with state of the art appliances, very clean and homely vibe. We were warm. The next morning we were in awe by the scenery. Will definately book again!

As a family we absolutely love Mount Everest. So peaceful. Animals and chalets well looked after. Host is a such a darling. Highly recommend this kind of break away if you want to escape from the city.

• Duplex chalet: Rooibok

Mount Everest is ideal for climbing enthusiasts and hikers. There are no marked trails, but many game paths and dirt roads to explore. It has a wonderfully relaxing farm atmosphere and the chalets are very nice. Whilst it is centrally located, being in the mountains the weather can turn quickly and the wind usually picks up in the afternoon. Even so, we will definitely be back.

• Mount Everest Chalet

Change is good and Mt Everest Game Farm, under new ownership, is making it count. As a group of MTB cyclists, we were looking for a destination close to Johannesburg for long, challenging rides. What we found in Mt Everest was a unique destination that offered up so much more than a typical guest farm. We had beautiful linen, WIFI, a well-equipped kitchen, and privacy that was a pleasure to get back to after a long day of training. We mapped out routes that took us on beautiful mountain passes, never seeing another car or shop of any sort. We had the countryside in full Cosmos bloom to ourselves, not to mention the game surrounding us on the guest farm. Everything was quite breathtakingly beautiful. This is a 5-star MTB destination.

Just what the body and soul needs! lovely surrounds, clean and beautifully decorated Eco Cabin, practically equipped. We had a lovely stay. Loved the tranquility, privacy and seeing the variety of animals roaming. Lovely hosts, keeping us informed and making us feel welcome.

• Tarentaal Eco Cabin

This place is amazing. We booked Aarendskop chalet and spent our Christmas at this hidden gem. Aarendskop chalet has recently been renovated and has the most amazing views. If you are looking for total serenity, this is the place to visit.
With a short 2 hour 30 minute drive from Johannesburg this is the perfect weekend escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
This chalet is equiped with a lovely braai which you can open on the inside or the outside, depending on your preference.
The spiral stairs in this cabin is fitted with motion detection lights which automatically switches on when you approach the stairs.
Aarendskop also has WiFi and a TV. However I have to say, with the views and serenity this chalet offers, switching on the TV or making use of the WiFi was not a priority at all.
There are plenty of wildlife on Mount Everest and you are guaranteed to see and hear them.
All chalets are self catering so be sure to take with you everything you'll need for the duration of your stay.
No need to panic should you have forgotten something, Mount Everest is situated 21km outside the town of Harrismith where one can get the things you might have forgotten.
You can be assured of total privacy with no neighbours and no staff disturbing you during your stay (unless otherwise requested).
I will definitely visit this hidden gem again in future. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was very relaxing. The views are stunning and it was really peaceful. Our dog absolutely loved it as well. Will definitely go back!

We had a wonderful stay at Mount Everest. It's a beautiful, peaceful location. The climbing is great and lovely hiking and game watching too. The accommodation was spacious, very comfortable and had fantastic views. WiFi worked and TV streaming too. We did an excellent trad multipitch and put up a rope on some easy sports routes for our daughter to toprope. It was really special watching the animals everywhere we went and in the evenings around the braai. Looking forward to our next visit!

Those A Frame Chalets are fantastic and so well equipped. We had such an awesome weekend.

It was a great experience we all enjoyed our stay alot.The kids loved it.The chalet was very comfortable,very neat,clean and tidy..it had all the things needed for a self catering stay..Mr.Kobus is a very friendly person he was very helpful and kind.Thanks once again..we definitely would love to come again.

Le chalet était perdu dans la nature, très bel endroit, très écologique, avec toutes les commodités. Le chalet est magnifique. L'endroit est tellement calme. Nous avons fait une balade dans la propriété le matin et c'était magnifique de se promener entre les antilopes, les zèbres, les gnous ... Magnifique endroit.

Inboek en uitboek het glad verloop. Die pad lyk goed na Mt. Everest. Baie vriendelike personeel. Die huis is heeltemal privaat en dis 'n wonderlike wegbreek van die gejaagde lewe. Vele wildspesies op die plaas. Ons honde was saam en ek dink hulle het dit nog meer as ons geniet. Die bed het kraakvars, spierwit linne en die plek is baie mooi skoon.
